Guides Green Team Wins First Place in Tidy Antigua/Barbuda Project
22 May 2008
The Tidy Antigua/Barbuda Project was launched by the Rotary Club late 2007 and the Girl Guides Association immediately pledged its participation.
A meeting was held and a team of “Green Guides” revived and mobilized a clean-up and
beautification plan of the block encompassing the Girl Guides
headquarters. To register, the
Guides Green Team named the Girl Guides Headquarters premises and the beautification project started during the World Thinking Day “Think Water” activities at Mast Pond.
Following four months of celebrating on
the
22nd (January 22nd – Think Water Essay Contest; February 22nd – World Thinking Day; March 22nd – Caribbean Link Going for Gold Kite Fun Fly & Competition; April 22nd – Caribbean Link Day), the Girl Guides were awarded the first prize in the non-governmental organizations (NGO) category jointly with the Freetown Community Group on Thursday, May 22nd.

This is just the beginning as the Guides Green Team grows.
